Dewlay Cheesemakers are looking for a multi skilled engineer to join its team.

The Company produces and packs a range of award-winning cheeses within a “best in class” facility for a range of UK and oversees customers. To meet further business growth and site investment targets, we are now looking to grow the maintenance department with a multi skilled and dynamic engineer.

The role will help shape and influence an innovative family run business built on a strong family culture.

Key Responsibilities

-Assist in the smooth operation and maintenance of a modern food manufacturing site.

-Provide front line breakdown support to return equipment back to service as quickly as possible.

-Carry out planned and preventative maintenance to agreed schedule.

-Diagnose faults and to test, repair and maintain mechanical / electrical equipment.

-Observe, recognise and report on machinery or component defects or symptoms of impending failure to improve efficiency and reliability.

-Undertake project work involving electrical and mechanical installation of new equipment.

-Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.

-Comply with health and safety and food safety requirements when undertaking works.

Experience & Skills

-Ideally you will have experience in mechanical and electrical engineering within a food manufacturing, production/process environment.

– Experience with fast-moving machinery, pumps, valves, inverter drives, sensors, relays, PLC’s and site services.

-Ability to trouble shoot to find the cause of machinery and equipment faults.

-Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and diagrams.

-Strong ability to make logical decisions that will resolve potential problems.

-A proactive ‘can do’ approach to maintenance.

Renumeration

-Salary from £40,000 – £45,000 per year (dependant on experience).

-Permanent Full-time (day shift only) on a 4 or 5-day working week.
