We are looking for a talented team player to join our leading cheese manufacturer and packing business.

Based in Garstang, Lancashire, we supply cheese to retailers, wholesalers and independents. Priding ourselves on quality and consistency, we are looking for someone who can continue to ensure the safety and quality of our products.

This role is to carry out technical administrative tasks to ensure compliance to the sites food safety standard is met each day, as well as overseeing and communicating with customers and suppliers on technical requirements.

About us:

Established in 1957, Dewlay Cheesemakers is a third generation cheesemakers, producing territorial cheese for the UK and international market. The business also has a state of the art packing facility with 8 packing lines.

Producing and packing for major retailers, wholesalers and export companies the site is certified AA+ BRCGS as well as holding certification for Organic, Red Tractor, Kosher and SMETA.

Key Tasks:

-Maintain and create product specifications both internally and for customers and update as required.

-Oversee supplier approval process in conjunction with the technical manager and ensure ongoing compliance and documentation review.

-Conduct internal audits and inspections to ensure compliance with food safety regulations.

-Assist the technical manager in maintaining technical procedures and policies to ensure retailer requirements are met.

-Ensure label compliance and product information is correct and signed off before product launch.

-Carry out incoming label checks.

-Ensure calibration schedules are up to date.

-Assist in external audits as required.

Your Skills:

-The ability to transfer and review data accurately and clearly.

-Keen eye for detail.

-Good communication skills to deal with customer queries and suppliers.

-Ability to prioritise multiple projects and workstreams.

-Internal auditing experience.

-Ideally minimum level 2 food safety and/or HACCP.

Salary and Package:

-Up to £30k per annum (dependant on experience)

-Full time Monday-Friday
