It was another successful year at the Great Yorkshire Show, as Dewlays trio of Lancashire’s swooped up a host of medals.

Receiving a Gold for its Creamy Lancashire cheese and Silvers for its Tasty Lancashire and Crumbly Lancashire, Dewlay saw off some tough competition.

The three-day event held in Harrogate, is one of the largest agricultural events in the UK, with the cheese tent full to the rafters with cheese from across the UK and beyond.

“It’s always great to come along to the Great Yorkshire Show and see our Lancashire Cheese win gold,” says Dewlays Conor Daunt.

“There is so much cheese here and some great judges, so it is an honour to be recognised as a fine Lancashire cheesemaker.”

Made to a traditional Lancashire cheese recipe, the Creamy and Tasty Lancashire cheese are made to a century old recipe of mixing curd from different days, giving it its unique marbling appearance and buttery and smooth flavour.

The cheese is then carefully matured before being selected by Dewlays head cheesemaker and given the seal of approval.

Dewlay Cheesemakers is hoping to continue its winning streak, as it heads to the International Cheese Awards later this month.
