In conjunction with Training 2000 and the University of Central Lancashire, we are offering fully funded four year apprenticeship courses. With one year off site and three years on site, you will come away with a Level 3 NVQ and a career in a growing and secure family business.
What is the role?
Mechatronics Maintenance Technicians ensure that plant and equipment perform to the required standard to facilitate production targets regarding Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost within High Value Manufacturing environments.
At Dewlay, we produce a range of Award–winning cheeses within a Best in Class facility for a range of UK and oversees customers. To meet further business growth and continued site investment, we are now looking for mechatronics apprentices to complete a level 3 engineering technician apprenticeship. A four year apprenticeship, your first year will be spent in full time off site training with site keep in touch days once a month, before then spending three years on site as well as any continued learning.
As part of the engineering team, in time you will help shape and influence an innovative family run business built on strong family values and culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of a modern food manufacturing site.
- Assist in providing front line breakdown support to return equipment back to service as quickly as possible.
- Carry out planned and preventative maintenance to agreed schedule.
- Learn to read and interpret data and technical drawings and plans.
- Work alongside members of the engineering team to gain experience and knowledge from them.
- Assist in performing fault diagnosis on electrical, mechanical and process control systems.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.
- Comply with health and safety and food safety requirements when undertaking works.
