We are looking to recruit an experienced full time Accounts Assistant to join our team. As part of a small team you will need to be flexible and willing to support other parts of the business. The split of workloads will depend upon the successful candidates experience and the role will work mainly on Accounts Payable, with some other administrative tasks.

Duties include:

  • Posting purchase ledger invoice (largely against Purchase Orders)
  • Generating and making supplier payments
  • Managing the tracking any credits due from suppliers
  • Managing supplier queries
  • Weekly payroll for 90+ staff including all HMRC submissions (currently using Sage, but will change)
  • Nominal account reconciliations
  • Input of milk supplied by farmers and processing of payments
  • Closing of ledgers at period end
  • Other administrative tasks

Requirements of the role:

  • Relevant experience of the above duties is a must
  • You must be able to work as part of a small team and be flexible when required
  • Computer literate with a decent competency in the use of excel alongside a solid understanding of accounting software principles. Experience of Sage Payroll and/or other payroll software’s is desirable.
