Dewlay storms the lancashire cheeses

Cheesemakers of Garstang wins Best Lancashire in Show.

Cheshire Show proved a winning success for Dewlay as they scooped Best Lancashire Cheese in Show at this week’s event.

Seeing off competition from a number of Lancashire cheesemakers to win the coveted award, it comes in the wake of a trio of wins at the Royal Bath and West Show that was held in Somerset at the beginning of June.

“Cheshire Show is a great event with plenty of entries from across the UK,” comments production director Richard Kenyon.

“Winning Best Lancashire in Show is a true testament to our heritage and pride in producing the best Lancashire cheese in the market. There is so much variety in the market but we always strive to remain true to our Lancashire cheesemaking roots,” he adds.

As well as winning Best Lancashire in Show, Dewlay the Cheesemakers of Garstang also won gold and silver for their Crumbly Lancashire cheese.

“The award season is a great time for us here at Dewlay, and with a trophy under our belt after the second show of the season, we can’t wait to showcase our cheese at other events throughout the summer,” added Richard.
